Howdy ya’ll! Just a little bit about me.

Over the years, I’ve had many requests for my recipes, and I have shared a few in the past. But deep down, I always felt that I’d have my own bakery at some point. For quite some time, I’ve been encouraged by those who’ve tried my baked goods to start a business.  Well…this was finally the right time in my life to do so, and I’m beyond excited to launch Hope Cottage Sweets & Pup Treats.

I was raised in the kitchen and developed a love for baking as soon as I was old enough to stand on a stool next to my mom. I knew as soon as the goodies came out of the oven, I got a sample…YaY…the best part! Well, over the years, that hasn’t changed…other than I’m the baker. I’ve been making my family recipes from way back when, and they’re still as delicious as ever. But, since I wanted to add to what was passed down to me, I’ve spent years experimenting with many other recipes of my own. And…to make everything even better, I use farm-fresh eggs, and no seed oils.

To add to the tasty treats I make for people, I figured my little pup, Hope, deserved to enjoy homemade goodies as well. Hence, the Pup Treats are part of the business. No additives or things we can’t even pronounce are added to my baked goods.

Whether it’s an order for your family or a dessert spread for a party or wedding, I’m here to help!

I hope you love all the goodies I create, and I can’t wait to share my passion for baking with you.

Kelly - The Happy Baker

A silly little side note:

As a little 5-year-old on my stool, I was pretty sure my mom was holding out on me. Since the shortening can had a photo of a cake with frosting, I was convinced that there was frosting inside. She tried to convince me that it was just an ingredient for baking, but I demanded a spoonful of it. So…she gave it to me. Holy Smokes, that was NOT what I was expecting! Did I learn my lesson? Nope! I did it again, but this time with cocoa powder. I was sure it was going to taste just like chocolate milk mix. After a spoonful of that, I finally learned my lesson. Gotta trust the Mommy!
